Spring Thaw at Ohiopyle State Park

Cascades Falls, Meadow Run, Ohiopyle State Park

I spent yesterday morning (3.11.2015) visiting 8 waterfalls within the confines of Ohiopyle State Park, Fayette County, PA. With the recent warm temps and added rainfall, the spring thaw was in full effect and the results could be seen on every body of water within the park.

This was one of those days when the pictures truly can't do the experience justice, so I've put together a short video (approx. 3 minutes) with footage from all of the waterfalls I visited yesterday. The thunderous sounds of white water seemed to come from every direction, a much-welcomed change from the icy stillness of just a few weeks ago.

I hope you enjoy the video, and look for a follow-up post with many of the still photos from the trip in a day or so.

P.S. - the video is filmed in HD/1080p. If you have the bandwidth, make sure to watch in HD for the full effect.

  1. Great video at high water! Thanks for the great photography!
